Jerud “Jerry” Mead

The campus community mourns the passing of Jerud “Jerry” Mead, who died on Monday, March 1. Jerry retired in 2009 as professor emeritus of computer science after 26 years of service to Bucknell. His colleagues in the Department of Computer Science shared the following about him: Professor Mead taught a broad array of courses. His engagement with introductory and advanced programming courses informed the development of perspectives on how one might more systematically create programs that meet specifications. Robert (Bob) Malesardi, ’45, P’75 ’79 ’87, GP’08

The Bucknell University community mourns the passing of emeritus trustee and loyal Bucknellian Robert (Bob) Malesardi, ’45, P’75 ’79 ’87, GP’08, on Jan. 16, 2021. Bob Malesardi majored in accounting at Bucknell and was a member of the wrestling team, the Navy V-12 program and Sigma Chi. Prior to his retirement, the World War II veteran spent many years operating an accounting firm and developing real estate. He co-owned the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, Fla. Malesardi served as an active trustee from 1972 through 1988 and was a generous donor whose gifts to the University supported scholarships and […]

Dennis Baumwoll

The campus community mourns the passing of Dennis Baumwoll, who died on Thursday, January 14. Dennis retired in 1998 as Professor Emeritus of English after 32 years of service to Bucknell. Dennis is remembered by his colleagues as a great talker—and a very good listener. Marion Rose
